Officeを月額6.99ドルで! Office 365 Personal

米 Microsoft が個人向けクラウド型オフィススイート Office 365 Personal を今春からサービス開始するそうです。Windows PC / Mac 1台 と タブレット 1台 が利用できて、月額 6.99ドル か 年額 69.99ドル があるそうです。

クラウド経由で Word、Excel などが使えるっていうヤツですが、早いところスタンドアローンな iPad 版 Office を本格的に出してくれないかなぁ‥‥

Microsoft の SkyDrive は OneDrive へと名称変更することになったそうです。一応、Windows 8.1 を使っているので、SkyDrive はそれなりにシームレスに使えるので使ってますけど、やっぱり DropBox が便利なので、メインとしては使ってないですかねぇ。

SkyDrive のような人気サービスの名前を変えるのは容易ではありませんでしたが、新しい OneDrive という名前は、お客様に提供できる価値と私たちの将来のビジョンを一番よく表現していると考えています。

Windows 8.1、10月18日リリース開始

Microsoft が Windows 8.1 のリリースを 2013年10月18日 と発表しました。で、Windows Blog では、カレンダーに書き込んでおいてねー！って感じで案内をしておりましたよ！ Windows 8 はボクも使ってるんですけど、なかなか慣れなくて‥‥ (笑) 会社で Windows 7 を使ってるからかなぁ(^^;;;

I know a lot of folks are eager to find out when they will be able to get Windows 8.1. I am excited to share that starting at 12:00am on October 18th in New Zealand (that’s 4:00am October 17th in Redmond), Windows 8.1 will begin rolling out worldwide as a free update for consumers on Windows 8 through the Windows Store. Windows 8.1 will also be available at retail and on new devices starting on October 18th by market. So mark your calendars!

Surface Pro、日本でも発売へ

Mcirosoft は Surface Pro を日本でも発売を開始すると発表。すでに発売をしていは ARM 系の CPU を使っている Surface RT と違い Intel のプロセッサを使い OS も Windows 8 Pro を採用しているので、従来の Windows 8 対応アプリもつかえるタブレットとなっています。

また、日本語版は Office Home and Business 2013 をプリインストールされているのでビジネスに使うにはもってこいのタブレット端末となっています。しかし、価格が 99800円 からとなっているので、ノートパソコンともろにぶつかりそうな価格帯が問題かも‥‥

そうそう、Surface なので着脱式のキーボードカバー Touch Cover などが使えます。これは Surface RT と共用だそうです。別売ですが‥‥

Surface RT、日本上陸 3.15

Microsoft の Surface がついに日本でも発売されるそうです。3月15日より Surface RT から発売です。今回は Surface PRO の発表はありませんでしたが、いずれ日本でも発売されそうですね。

主な仕様は Tegra 3、メモリ 2GB、1367 × 768 タッチ液晶ディスプレイ。OS は Windows RT で、Office 2013 RT が搭載されています。ストレージは 32GB と 64GB が用意されていますが、システムがすでに利用している容量があるので、それぞれ 約16GB 、約45GB がフリーの容量となるようです。

Surface RT と PRO では、起動時間や動作速度などでどうしても差が出てしまい、RT は一歩待たされる感じがあるにはありますが、Windowsストアアプリを使うだけなら問題ないんじゃないかなぁと思ったりします。Office 2013 RT も魅力ですしね。

Microsoft Surfaceは499ドルからだそうですね

Microsoft のタブレット Surface の Windows RT 搭載モデルの販売価格は、本体のみの 32GB モデルが 499ドル で、Touch Cover 付き 32GB モデルが 599ドル。Touch Cover 付きの 64GB モデルが 699ドル だそうです。

思っていたよりも高いですね。もっと安く iPad に対抗してくるかと思っていたんだけど、Office 2013 の RT プレビュー版がプリインストールされていることを考えればこんなもんかもしれないね。

Just a few minutes ago, Steven Sinofsky announced at Microsoft’s annual sales meeting that customers will be able to get Windows 8 – whether in upgrade fashion or on a new PC – starting on October 26th. Earlier this month at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, Tami Reller told attendees Windows 8 would be available in October. But now everyone has a specific date to mark on their calendars. It’s on mine!
